JOB TITLE: Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager (SH&E)
  • Our client, a global manufacturer of specialty polymers, requires an experienced Safety, Health and Environment Manager to join the site leadership team at their South Carolina manufacturing facility.
  • The successful candidate will become the embodiment of their SHE culture while working to achieve all SHE and related business objectives.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Model the behavioral expectations to support the site and corporate EHS culture and provide guidance to the staff regarding regulatory requirements and methods to achieve excellence in SHE performance.
    • Participate on the site leadership team and supports site goals and objectives in all areas.
    • Support the business and technology teams with EHS advice relative to customer needs. Manage the lab safety programs for site labs.
    • Manage site environmental programs, prepare government-required environmental reports and ensure the site operating permits are sufficient for planned business requirements.
    • Audit site SHE performance on a regular basis and provide feedback to supervisory personnel.
    • Act as a liaison between the site and the surrounding community and external response agencies.
    • Support the site incident investigation process to ensure root causes are identified and corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
    • Support risk assessment processes on site and audits the effectiveness of risk reduction actions.
    • Serve as the Responsible Care® coordinator for the site
  • Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry, Industrial Safety or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant SHE experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Experience working in a Process Safety Management environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Practiced at working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
