JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • World class organization seeks HR Manager for two facilities near Waverly, IA with over 250 employees (200 non-union and 50 union employees).
  • The HR Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall business objectives in labor/union relations, staffing, performance management, training and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, EEO/AAP and safety.
  • You will be a key member of the leadership team and be a strong business partner, working with leadership to enhance culture, labor relations and employee engagement.
  • In addition, you will serve as an employee advocate helping to resolve employee concerns and promote a positive work environment.
  • The Human Resources Manager will have the opportunity to significantly impact the business and assists top management with planning, development and implementation of HR initiatives.
  • This is a highly visible role in one of their key facilities that has both strategic and tactical components.
  • 2 direct reports.
  • Innovation and energy are an important are key attributes of the successful candidate. 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree essential; Masters a plus.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification a plus.
  • 7+ years progressively responsible HR experience with at least 3 years in a manufacturing plant / assembly plant or distribution center.
  • Experience with a union work force preferable (but not essential if they have everything else).
  • Demonstrated understanding of core HR competencies.
  • Demonstrated success implementing HR programs, systems and initiatives.
  • Strong business aptitude.
  • Able to meet dead-lines and work in a fast-paced environment.
